The role of far-right forces in Ukraine during and after Euromaidan

This bachelor thesis deals with the role of Ukrainian far-right forces during the Euromaidan and in the post-revolutionary period. The thesis is conceived as a case study that relies mainly on qualitative research methods based on academic literature accompanied by non-academic sources. The first chapter includes an introduction to the topic and provides research questions and thesis structure along with methodology and literature review. In the second chapter, the historical and ideological genesis of the Ukrainian far-right will be outlined along with a presentation of current far-right representatives including the most famous ones. In further parts, the activities and role of far-right forces during Euromaidan, their engagement during the war in the Donbas region, and their political and civil activities during the post-revolutionary period. The time frame of this thesis is limited to the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation in February 2022. At the end of each part, research questions will be answered based on the findings of the respective part. Those answers are then summed up in a conclusion. Politické tendence ve vybrané romantické poezii

This thesis analyses selected poetry of English Romantic poets in terms of their political opinions. The works of various poets are scrutinised and put into the context of important political events of the period. The main topics discussed are the left-right political spectrum, the conflict between monarchism and republicanism, and the critique of institutionalised religion in how the Romantic poets perceive them. In cases where more poets show interest in the same question, their ideas are compared.

The depiction of Czechoslovakia in the years 1989 - 1990 through the eyes of viewers in the television series Vyprávěj

The bachelor thesis entitled "The depiction of Czechoslovakia in the years 1989 - 1990 through the eyes of viewers in the television series Vyprávěj" deals with the question of how the perception of the portrayal of a particular stage of contemporary history (the November Revolution of 1989 and the social events of the early 1990s) in the series differs between two different groups of viewers, the memorials and the non-memorials. The thesis consists of pilot research conducted with two respondents, each representing one of the two audience groups. Their experience of watching and perceiving the series is explored through a semi-structured interview method with predetermined thematic headings. On a theoretical level, the thesis explores how the format of the series: the memory medium, utilizes concepts of nostalgia along with cultural and communicative memory, while considering account the specificities of post-television audiences. Furthermore it describes the relation between memory and history, as well as presenting the specific importance of the period 1989-1990 in modern Czechoslovak and Czech history. The main goal of the bachelor thesis "The death of Tsar Nicholas II and its reverberations in contemporary Czech environment" is to paint a compehensive picture of the death of the family of Russia's last Tsar and its reverbations in former Czechoslovakia. The text recounts the life and reign of Nicholas II with a closer focus on the murder of all family members in July 1918. It places the last moments of the Tsarist regime along with its sovereign in the context of contemporary Czech environment. It delves into the reverbations of Tsar's death and the coming of a new regime in Czech press, and the cultural and political scenes.

Ion Iliescu and his role in the forming of the modern romanian democracy

The problems of Romanian transition to democracy after the year 1989 were in large part determined by the form of previous regime. Because of the extreme pressure and control exercised on the opposition and personal dictatorship of the regime of Nicolae Ceaușescu, no major dissent groups or opposition centers possessing the potential to take part in the overthrow of the regime existed. In the swift and still unclear events of December 1989, National Salvation Front rose to hold the power, being directed by Ion Iliescu at the same time. As a formerly top positioned communist apparatchik, who had been swept out from his status after several conflicts with Ceausescu, he transferred almost complete communist structure under the newly formed regime, including Securitate, the secret service. Deconstruction of the former regime was actually performed by the execution of the former president and his wife and by trials of several Securitate generals. Iliescu concentrated overwhelming majority of the state power around NSF and in contradiction with his original proclamations postponed transition to democracy. Revolution as a theoretical problem

The bachelor thesis analyzes the topic of revolutions, primarily its theoretical use. In introduction, there is explained for which events the word revolution is ordinarily used and in what sense the author of this work uses the term. In first chapter thesis outlines the emergence of the word revolution in ancient times and also understanding of the word by contemporaries. There is also analysis of the shift in using of the word revolution as the result of American and French revolutions. Second chapter aims on first theorists of revolutions in 19th century with focus on Karl Marx, Alexis De Tocqueville and Vladimir Iljič Lenin. In third chapter author summarizes the development of the study of revolutions between world wars and in fourth, there is analysis of the study of causes of revolutions after World War II. In that time revolutions were in the centre of attention of researchers in the field of social sciences. Fifth chapter deals with European revolutionary process as set forth by Martin Malia. In conclusions, author reflects on the causes of revolutions and if there is one general model including all events ordinarily called revolutions and what is the meaning of the study of revolutions for present.

The concept of revolution in the work of N.A. Berdyaev

This thesis is focused on a concept of revolution in writings of Russian philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev. It starts with general characteristics of a philosopher's works and special attention is given to the style of his writing. Main objective of the thesis is a description of Berdyaev's relation to the term revolution itself, which is given from philosophical, sociological and his- toriosophical perspective, as well as putting his notion of revolution into the context of histor- ical events that has occurred during the first quarter of 20th century in Russia. Thesis draws on Berdyaev's articles that appeared in these collections of papers: The Problems of Idealism (Problemy idealizma), Signposts (Vekhi), De profundis (Iz glubiny) and on his works: The Spir- itual Crisis of the Intelligentsia, The Philosophy of Inequality, The Spiritual Origins of Russian Revolution.

Rural section of the Bohemia bewspapers up to 1850s

The bachelor thesis "Rural section of the Bohemia newspapers up to 1850s" analyses the thematic content and news frequency from the countryside and places that the German written newspapers Bohemia published during the introduced period. In the beginning the thesis describes the historical, cultural and political connection in the Czech countries, shows the bourgeoisie life and its customs and social changes. It introduces the media area of this period. It focuses closely on progress of the Bohemia newspapers, its content, interest and activity. It focuses on the rural section of Bohemia, which started to appear in a separate section from the year 1837. The quantitative analysis of the rural section describes the gradual frequency and the changes of the medial contents depending on the political and social situation.
